Purab Kohli quits as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa host

Purab Kohli, who was hosting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar, has bid adieu to the music reality show due to prior commitments.

Purab Kohli, who was hosting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar, has bid adieu to the music reality show due to prior commitments.

"I am leaving because of my prior movie commitments... unfortunately I would not be able to devote so much time to the show any longer," Purab said in a statement.

Purab's last appearance on the show will be on Friday's episode. He will be replaced by TV actor Manish Paul, who has earlier anchored Dance India Dance L'il Masters.

Purab, whose popularity got a new high after Rock On!!, says he is leaving the show with wonderful memories.

"It was a dream come true to be on the same platform which popularised people like Sonu Niigaam and Shaan. I'm thankful to the channel to have given me this wonderful opportunity even though I don't have any musical background. Hopefully, I will resume my role as an anchor in the next season of the show," he added.

Purab will soon be seen in Onir's I Am.
