June has been kept aside for the family vacation in the US, and nothing in the world can change that.
For years, SRK has been using the family vacation bahaana to avoid attending the same award function for years now.
Says a source close to Akshay, "The family vacation was planned well in advance to coincide with son Aarav's school vacations."
In fact, the organisers suggested flying the actor down from wherever he was for the event.
When Akki refused to perform, they tried to persuade him to at least attend it with his wife and kid but he wouldn't relent.

The two sat together and decided which places to visit and what spots of the world would be of most interest to the boy.
