Music composer Amaal Mallik, who has composed the song âYeh Awarapan' from the recently released Emraan Hashmi-starrer âAwarapan 2', has shared that he doesn't overthink beyond a point while making music.
The composer spoke with IANS during the promotions of the film in the BKC area of Mumbai. When asked if he overthinks when a song doesn't click with the audience, he said, "No, because I have realized that there are bigger factors than me, in running a song. When my music video comes on my face, and if it doesn't work, then I get into an understanding, that maybe I will think more, or I need to fix something".
He told IANS, " take 10-15 days and think, that maybe I have done something new, something experimental. Maybe people don't want to listen to it or maybe it was a song ahead of its time".
"So many times in my career, when I did âSooraj Dooba Hain', it had the same electronic soundscape. But it didn't work then, two years later the genre became big. Times keep changing. Every two weeks, a new song can come, which can become bigger than a film song", he added.
Earlier, the composer shared how he makes peace with some of his songs not clicking at the time of their release but becoming huge hits years later.
Meanwhile, âAwarapan 2' is a sequel to âAwarapan', and sees Emraan Hashmi reprising his role of Shivam Pandit. While âAwarapan' was dubbed a flop upon its release, the film gained a significant loyal following in later years, eventually attaining the cult-status owing to its music, and Emraan Hashmi's performance. âAwarapan 2' is currently playing in cinemas.
