Aneet Padda has opened up about her experience with food on film sets, revealing why she no longer eats meals provided during shoots. In a recent interview, the Saiyaara actor recalled how she disliked set food before the film's success gave her the option to order from outside. Her comments come amid past reports of food poisoning on film sets.
In a chat with Variety India, Aneet was asked about the "best and worst thing about being on a film set", and she responded that there was "no con to being on set". However, when she was asked about her "relationship with food on set", she quickly said that she does not consume any of the food served on a film set.
Aneet said that before Saiyaara, when she wasn't a star, she would eat the food served on film sets and hated it. "I don't eat it (set food) anymore. Because luckily for me, I can order from outside. When I did eat set food, the year before Saiyaara, it was actually so bad. Like soda is being poured. And when you eat papad, it is fizzing in your mouth," she said.
In August 2025, during the shoot of Dhurandhar in Leh, 120 crew members suffered from food poisoning. Officials reportedly confirmed, "Over 100 workers of a Bollywood film crew were hospitalised in Leh after a suspected case of food poisoning late Sunday evening." The workers of the film unit were reportedly shooting when many of them suddenly developed severe abdominal pain, vomiting and headaches.
Those affected were immediately rushed to the Sajal Narbu Memorial (SNM) Hospital in Leh, where the doctors confirmed it was a case of mass food poisoning. An official stated that nearly 600 people had meals at the location before the incident occurred. "Food samples have been collected for detailed analysis to identify the cause," the official added.
Aneet was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed series Hunkkaar, which she shot well before Saiyaara. She will next be seen in Shakti Shalini, a horror comedy that is also set to feature the late Nana Patekar. The film is slated to release in theatres this December.
