Arjan tries to cover up

Model-actor Arjan Bajwa couldn't decide which jacket to wear for our shoot. After all, he owns around 25 of them, and is often seen sporting them at parties. "Jackets look stylish and have a masculine feel to them," says Arjan, who developed a love for jackets after seeing Salman Khan in a leather jacket in Maine Pyaar Kiya. He tells CS what makes a jacket hot in mildly chilly Mumbai:

Macho man
As a kid, I remember my mom getting me a jacket similar to the one worn by Amitabh Bachchan in Mr Natwarlal. She loved the jackets he wore in films like Sharaabi, Silsila, Shakti, and thought they would look good on me too. But my fetish for jackets grew after I saw Salman Khan looking snazzy in a black leather jacket in Maine Pyaar Kiya.

In my college days, I had this colourful skiing jacket, which was a favourite of all my cousins. When I rode my bike wearing that jacket and a helmet, I looked just like a sci-fi character (laughs out loud). My cousins would borrow it often for parties or dates. I love the macho look ufffd jackets make a man look and feel like a man. Haven't you noticed heroes taking off their jackets to cover their heroines in films? So, you too can use it to protect your girlfriend/wife from the cold or from preying eyes if she's dressed in a skimpy outfit (winks). And no matter how advanced girls may be, they still like guys who show their caring and protective side!

Jacket job
For early morning bike riders, a hooded jacket is a must to protect from cold winds. When you buy a jacket, buy an average size, ie something that won't be too loose nor too tight as and when you gain or lose weight. A good jacket adds shape to your body, so if you're little skinny, it can make you look bulkier and vice versa. A good jacket will cost you a minimum of Rs 4,000 to 5,000. So, keep in mind the kind of occasions you'll wear the jacket to and make your buy. Don't buy anything too stark that goes only with a particular outfit.

Pack a punch
Sports jackets look great with denims and sneakers. They can be worn without tees underneath, but make sure you zip them up till the end. Leather jackets are my favourite. But you just can't wear a leather jacket with anything. A black/brown leather jacket with a white tee and dark denims looks decent. Or, you can get a cowboy look with denims and boots. Showing male cleavage in a leather jacket is an absolute no-no; always wear a t-shirt underneath. You get a lot of semi-formal linen jackets in the market that can be worn to dinners and brunches. Checks, stripes, knitted, denim, and reversible jacketsu00a0-- all can be worn to parties when teamed with jeans, tees and formal shoes. And for colder places, a big winter jacket is a must. I love well-fitting trench coats. They look quite classy with denims or slim fit pants. Add a pair of glares to get the snazzy look.
