Almost every musician will tell you how they feel restricted by algorithms. With his latest single, My Location, singer and songwriter Axe Shay has examined the feeling of being psychologically and creatively "pinned down" by algorithmic control.

"After releasing five or six singles, I started noticing how much music releases today seem tied to algorithms, trends, and social media strategies. But music should never be forced or shaped that way," the singer told mid-day.

According to him, social media has pressured artistes to constantly churn out work and remain visible. "With so much content, heavily polished performances, and auto-tuned material, people are now drawn towards something that feels honest. My Location tries to hold onto individuality in a world that constantly pushes people to fit into trends," he said.
