Why Mohit Suri and Bhushan Kumar are planning to renovate a Khar-based dilapidated music studio for 'Aashiqui 2'

It's been more than two decades since the original Aashiqui released. And producer Bhushan Kumar is all set to take a walk down the memory lane.

His father the slain Gulshan Kumar had produced the Rahul Roy-Anu Aggarwal starrer and the film's soulful music was recorded at Sudeep Studio, then a popular music studio in Khar.

And as an ode to his father, Bhushan and director Mohit Suri are planning to launch the music of their upcoming Aditya Roy Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer at the same location.

Incidentally, the recording studio is now in a decrepit state and hardly receives any visitors.

A source says, "The studio is in a very bad condition at the moment. It has not been used for a very long time. When the makers visited the place recently, they weren't sure if it would be the ideal place for a music launch. However, Bhushan has deep attachments to the studio."

It was the producer who insisted that the launch happen here and the film's makers have now decided to give the studio a face-lift.
The source adds, "At the moment renovation work is going on and the launch will happen in a month."

Bhushan says, "I have fond memories of my father working there for the original Aashiqui. It will be ideal for our upcoming film. We are going all out to renovate the studio for the big day. It's something my father would have been proud of."u00a0
