The issue of water conservation will be highlighted by four critically acclaimed directors - Imtiaz Ali, Hansal Mehta, Madhur Bhandarkar and Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary - through short films.

They aim to send across a message through everyday stories of India with four different short films for a television channel as part of the Mission Blue campaign.

Mehta said his son, Jay, is making his debut as a director with the movie titled Paani Path and he played the mentor to him.
Imtiaz, who has directed Paani Panchayat, said he has a personal connect with the cause since his father has spent several years working on water irrigation projects in rural areas.

Madhur's film is titled Ek Balti Paani while Aniruddha's is called Baiju.
