This Brazilian hottie, who's made Mumbai her home for the last seven years, loves the rains in the city. Model-actress Bruna Abdullah is dying to flaunt her gumboots and umbrella in the Bandra lanes (where she lives) while she waits for her romantic romcom to release early next month. Bruna updates CS with the latest monsoon fashion on scene:

Just right
Mumbai makes it easy for the girls. It's never cold in the monsoons here like it is in Brazil, and so you can step out wearing all your pretty dresses. And, people have stopped staring at your legs if you step out in shorts. Truth to tell, I love walking in shorts all year round, but more so in the rains. I just don't like it when my jeans get soaked up to the knees. Denim shorts, a bright T-shirt and gumboots is my favourite monsoon combo. White tank tops and tees are a favourite too. I like how white contrasts with dark skin. It makes you look healthier, like you've been sun-kissed!

My foot!
I like the idea of wearing a cute raincoat and a smart pair of gumboots. We used to in school, but the gumboots then were thick black ones; thank God they've evolved so much. At a formal occasion, I prefer wearing big wedges. I'm glad they are finally in fashion here as in monsoons, you can't wear heels and I hate to wet my feet. But if I'm just out for a stroll, you'll probably find me in chappals as they quickly dry your feet.

Closet check
I have a monsoon must-haves list. A smart long umbrella; lots of shorts, not the mini ones though; tank tops, I'm crazy about them; cute little T-shirts for comfortable wear as you step down for grocery or vegetable shopping; and knee-length dresses or skirts. This year I went to Dubai and did my entire monsoon shopping there. I bought a lot of light skirts, shorts, hippie shoes and a few well-designed gumboots.

No excuse please
During monsoons, I keep my make-up to the minimum. I stick to the basicsu00a0-- blush, gloss and waterproof mascara. You can't show your face sans make-up just because it's raining. However, if I have to go to a party, then I don't care if the sky is falling apart. I will go dressed in my best with the tallest stilettos I own and make sure my driver is holding two umbrellas to protect me as I get out of the car. No excuses for not looking your best. Girls, a pedicure every 15 days is a must. Keep your feet pretty in the rain and you'll feel good about yourself!
