"Three years ago, I had a dream debut and since then things have only got better for me. I couldn't ask for anything more," says Deepika Padukone, as she awaits the release of her upcoming film Break Ke Baad.
After three successful years in B-town that saw a lot of speculation about her love life, the damsel still dares to bare it all in the 'bring it on' style. She chats with CS about love and relationships:
While love is a special feeling, one cannot actually define it (smiles). Love comes with its share of responsibility towards your partner. When one person becomes important than the rest of the world, you are in love.
Also, the stereotypical Mills & Boons stuff like butterflies in your stomach, heart going aflutter, etc, are signs that you've fallen hard for someone. You know, to my understanding, it's love when you feel happy and safe with a special person even when you are in the middle of World War II (laughs).
Moving on
Transparency, trust and honesty form the base of any steady relationship irrespective of its nature. But no one is perfect and so to have a relationship based on complete trust and honesty is like a dream come true. In most relationships, there are phases when couples feel it is not working anymore.
So, they prefer to take a break during such rough patches to sort things out in their life. Today's generation is a very practical one. And with the kind of lifestyles and careers people are into, space is vitally important. A break helps you to sit back and list down your priorities.
I think it's good to part ways when your relationship doesn't make you happy. It's wrong to judge a relationship on its face value. A boy has a different version of the story and so does the girl. No one else can understand the real highs and lows in that relationship. I feel it's wrong to hold any one person guilty for a failed relationship. So rather than just faking a love you don't feel anymore, it's wise to move on.
Single is sexy
The best part of being single after a break up is that you're not answerable to anyone. When a woman becomes single after a long affair, two things happen to heru00a0-- either she lets loose and parties hard or goes for an image makeover, becoming a lot sexier in the process.
Partying and socialising becomes a part of her daily routine, which is not the case otherwise. And when it comes to me, I just think that every relationship comes with an asterisk mark (')u00a0-- conditions applied (dimples)!
