Diljit Dosanjh slams protesters waving pro-Khalistani flags mid-concert; raises concerns over his death remark

Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh recently performed in Canada, as part of his Aura Tour. However, his concert has grabbed headlinesover a number of incidents at the venue. In one of them, the singer stopped the concert midway after noticing some audience members waving pro-Khalistani flags.

Videos surfacing on the internet showed a few audience members waving pro-Khalistan flags during the concert. Noticing this, the singer-actor stopped his concert midway to address these members.

Addressing the criticism he ususally gets from fellow Punjabis, Diljit addressed his appeared on KBC back in 2025, where he donated the proceeds to the victims of the Punjab floods, saying, "My job is not to do charity. But whichever platform I go on, I always talk about Punjab. We often say the national media doesn't talk about Punjab enough. I went everywhere, including on that channel (Sony Entertainment Television for Kaun Banega Crorepati) for the sake of Punjab. I put forth Punjab's issues there. I've even donated generously to my state whenever needed."

He also addressed his recent appearance on The Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon and slammed the pro-Khalistani protestors. He said, "I even went on Jimmy Fallon's show to talk about Punjab and the Guru Nanak Jahaz incident. I didn't go there to promote any film or song. I went there to bring Punjab and its issues to light so the national media would cover them. If you still have an issue that I sat across someone on television…jinne jhande dikhane dilkhai challo (then keep waving how many flags you want to)."

Diljit also sparked concerns for saying 'I have already left this world. During the concert, Diljit is heard saying in Punjabi, "I have already left this world. I don't have any fear of death. Last December, I was trying to get out of this body. But now I still have to do a few more things before I leave this body. There is nothing to be afraid of. Punjab has always been spoken about, and it will continue to be spoken about even without me. I have already left this world; this is the truth. I am standing on this stage, and this is my God."

Further stressing on the importance of love and his connection to Punjab, he said, "I have no fear of death, and I don't have any animosity towards anyone. I love everyone. Love, respect, and forgiveness. I am trying to bring this into my life as much as I can. Those who are still with me, this is the name of Punjab. I am Punjab. What do you say?"
