The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the milestone on Wednesday, September 16. Taapsee shared a screenshot showing Gandhari topping Netflix's non-English movies category. Sharing the achievement, Taapsee wrote, "Gandhari when numbers speak."

According to Netflix's website, Gandhari has held the No. 1 position in 58 countries following its release two weeks ago. The film has garnered 9.6 million views after its release, clocking 18.7 million viewing hours. Tudum, Netflix's analytics site, also shows Gandhari as the most-watched non-English film on Netflix in the last week, beating the likes of Facing El Chapo and The Secret Woman.

In a separate post, Taapsee took a jibe at negative reviews by resharing a post that stated how the film topped the Netflix chart despite being ‘trashed by everyone'. Along with it, Taapsee wrote, "Not ‘everyone' I guess. When you throw lemons, we make lemonade. Cheers!"

Gandhari beats Dhurandhar, Alpha

According to Bollywood Hungama, the milestone is even more special for the film as it has overtaken the likes of Dhurandhar in terms of its numbers. Ranveer Singh's blockbuster, Dhurandhar, had recorded 7.6 million views in its first week on Netflix, followed by 8.2 million in its second week, as per the weekly figures.

Meanwhile, Gandhari garnered 9.6 million views in the second week, moving past Dhurandhar's benchmark as well. Netflix's Tudum earlier reported 7.6 million views for Dhurandhar in its first week.

Similarly, as per The Tribune India, Gandhari had earlier outperformed Alia Bhatt's Alpha, R Madhavan's G.DN, The Whisper Man and The BreadWinners by featuring prominently across Top 10 lists in markets including the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa and the USA.
