Buzz is the couple exchanged rings at a low-key ceremony a fortnight ago
It's finally official we think. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza are getting hitched pretty soon. A source reveals that the two actors got engaged at a hush hush ceremony held atu00a0 the former Maharashtra CM and father of the groom-to-be Vilasrao Deshmukh's residence a fortnight ago.
Confirms a source, "They have been planning a wedding for a while now, and families of both stars thought that an official engagement would only be appropriate." Interestingly, not a single friend of the couple's from the industry was invited to celebrate their special day.
Despite finally deciding to make it official, they stuck to a low-key ceremony with just a few family members and very close friends present. "The two have been dating each other for almost eight years now, but have never spoken about it.
They have not just done films together, but have also made countless appearances at parties, award functions and on red carpets," adds the source. Apparently, Riteish was very sure from the beginning that he wanted to tie the knot with Genelia.
But his family was not happy with his decision. "They wanted him to get married to a girl from their community and so it took some time for him to convince them otherwise," says the source.
