Ghost and Thaggedele actor Ananya Raj dies at 27 after battling physical and mental discomfort

Ananya Raj, known for her work in films such as 7 Hours to Go, The Final Exit and Ghost, has passed away at the age of 27. Her family shared the heartbreaking news, revealing that the actor passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 15 after battling physical and mental discomfort for over a year.

Taking to her official Instagaram account, Ananya's family shared heartbreaking news requesting privacy. The note read, "This is Ananya's family. With great pain, we have to announce that Ananya passed away in the wee hours of 15th July. She passed away peacefully in sleep. For over a year she was going through physical and mental discomfort. And she fought like a warrior to overcome them."

The statement further continued, "She was a strong spirited girl and lived like a Queen. Bachcha, your absence will be dearly felt. We urge all of you to pray for her soul. And In these trying times, We wish to maintain privacy and quietitude."

Ananya Raj was an Indian actress who was known for her work across Hindi and regional cinema. Raised in Mumbai, she stepped into the entertainment industry with a mix of film appearances and music videos, gradually building a presence for herself.

Raj made her Bollywood debut with the 2016 film 7 Hours to Go, followed by appearances in The Final Exit (2017) and Ghost (2019). Her performances earned her recognition, while her work in music videos further expanded her visibility. She featured in projects associated with leading music labels, including T-Series, Zee Music and Times Music.

Apart from Hindi films, Raj also explored opportunities in regional cinema. She was associated with projects such as the Telugu film Thaggede Le and the trilingual film Madrasi Gang. For Thaggede Le, Ananya Raj starred alongside Naveen Chandra, Divya Pillai and P. Ravi Shankar in director Srinivas Raju's 2022 Telugu suspense thriller.

Talking about Madrasi Gang, Ananya Raj played Sarita, a woman from Mumbai's slums and the girlfriend of a gangster played by Ranga Jinu. The trilingual action drama, directed by Ajay Andrews Nuthakki, also featured Ashmit Patel as a cop and Adhyayan Suman as a gangster.
