Love is overrated

At the trailer launch of Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishk Mein in Mumbai, actors Dhanush and Kriti Sanon were asked to share their views on love. Initially reluctant, Dhanush hesitated before saying, "I don't know," prompting a light-hearted comment that he was "too young" to define it. He then remarked, "I think it's just another overrated emotion," a statement that drew audible reactions from the audience. The comment comes a year after his divorce from Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Kriti did not elaborate further, leaving Dhanush's candid remark as the standout moment from the exchange.

Comedy heals

Anees Bazmee

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, known for enduring comedies like No Entry (2005), Welcome (2007), and Singh is Kinng (2008), said at the recently concluded Jagran Film Festival that such films have offered audiences far more than entertainment. He recalled a woman who told him Welcome helped her through a mental-health crisis, and shared another story about a friend's father who was unable to communicate for two years. "He watched Welcome every day for a year," Bazmee said, adding that the man later told him he "laughed on the inside" despite lying still and believed the film aided his recovery. The audience responded with warm applause to the filmmaker's emotional account.
