Rima Das's Village Rockstars 2 is set to release in cinemas on September 25, continuing the filmmaker's exploration of childhood and rural life. A standalone follow-up to Village Rockstars (2017), the film follows a teenage girl in Assam as she navigates friendship, aspirations, music and her bond with her mother, while touching upon climate change. Talking about the movie, Rima said, "Many people have told me they find Village Rockstars 2 my most emotional work yet."
