Helpful, but hands off

Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be a filmmaker's handy assistant, but SS Rajamouli is not ready to let it take over the creative process. Calling AI a "fantastic assistant", the filmmaker said it can significantly speed up research and development, turning tasks that once took weeks or months into ones completed in hours. Yet, he remains cautious about generative AI. "When it comes to generative AI, I remain skeptical," he said while speaking to students at Georgia University. On the work front, Rajamouli's next movie is the global action-adventure epic Varanasi, scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.It stars Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu.

The cost of speaking up

Parvathy Thiruvothu

Speaking her mind may have cost her professionally, but Parvathy Thiruvothu says her bond with Malayalam audiences has kept her relevant for two decades. Acknowledging that some may have preferred her silence, she said she cannot ignore the responsibility that comes with having a voice. "They may love you, hate you, or ignore you, but if you deliver a good movie, they will always make you a success," she said.
