Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif recently grabbed headlines and faced heavy trolling on the internet after her recent appearance. The actress stepped out with her husband, Vicky Kaushal, to attend the Ambani family's Ganpati celebration at Antilia, where she was seen posing for the paps. However, after her photos and videos surfaced, a section of social media trolled the actress for putting on weight post-pregnancy. On the other hand, many came to her defence. Now, her Bang Bang co-star Hrithik Roshan has reacted to one such post, slamming the trolls.
In an Instagram post defending Katrina Kaif, author Harshveer Jain wrote, "I crushed on Katrina Kaif all my teenage. Travelled inter-state to catch a glimpse. Kept newspaper cutouts and movie posters, some even in my wallet. Watched movies because she was cast. And now when a troll says she's finished because she put on post-pregnancy weight, I can only pity that troll."
In another slide, Jain added, "So if you are a teenager who is confused as to why are people calling you a troll for commenting on Katrina Kaif's apparent weight gain, please note that - She is a mother. She has a successful business. Signs of a fairly successful life, personal and professional. Your commentary on her won't affect her. You are a nobody for her. But women around you will look at that and immediately both, be hurt and also take you for a woman hater. Hopefully, you don't want either."
The caption he wrote, "Not stating the obvious. Some people don't have empathy for others. They won't understand that her life is none of their business. They really think it is. But they have empathy for their own self, and hopefully want to improve. Hoping to reach out to them."
Although Hrithik did not directly react or say anything on the matter, he liked Jain's post defending Katrina, quitely showing his support to his former co-star. Earlier, Ali Zafar had also defended Katrina over the body-shaming.
Katrina, who welcomed her first child in November last year, faced criticism about her weight on social media following her pregnancy. The backlash reignited after her recent appearance at the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Notably, Katrina faced similar trolling and body-shaming online a few weeks ago after she was spotted at filmmaker Kuku Kohli's prayer meet.
