They now want the actor to build a six pack and let go of his clean-faced school boy image.
A nationwide research undertaken by Synovate India, a consumer research firm, found that while Kapoor's fans liked him as the cute lover-boy, they are lusting to see him in an action role, complete with muscles, bulk and a six pack.

Now, Kapoor is ready to hit the gym, where he will undergo a different physical training regime to develop bulk.
"Since he played an airforce pilot in Mausam, Shahid has been sporting a lean, non-muscular look. Now he plans to do an action film and work on his physique," said a friend of the actor.
"Shahid took note of the survey. Women fans in Lucknow, Ludhiana and Chennai suggested that as Kapoor has grown older, he would look great in an action role. Everybody remembered his portrayal of Charlie in Kaminey, so we should soon see Shahid sign on more testosterone-packed roles," said the friend.
Kapoor's fans in Chennai were reportedly floored with the actor's dancing skills, and loved films in which he plays romantic roles.Kapoor has reportedly asked Siddharth Anand to write and direct an action flick in which he'd act. But Kapoor is non-committal. "Kaminey whetted the audience's appetite for action. There are a few action films I am considering," said the actor.
