Namak Halal: This is undoubtedly one of the funniest movies I remember watching. The Big B's character of a country bumpkin is hilarious.
The best thing about the film is that the laughter never stops.u00a0 Though there is a villain (Ranjeet), a brother (Shashi Kapoor), a vixen (Parveen Babi) and a lover (Smita Patil), the film is about Amitabh Bachchan and that's all you remember his walking, talking and speaking English.
Maine Pyar Kiya: Salmanu00a0 Khan is adorable, so is Bhagyashree but the best is the kabootar. I have watched it umpteen times. The music is so hummable. All the girls in my class had this huge crush on Salman when the film released.
Pakeezah: It was the lovely Meena Kumari from start to finish. I felt a sense of sadness on learning that it was chronic alcoholism that killed her in fact she was too ill to perform in some of the scenes in Pakeezah, necessitating a body double.
It remains one of the greatest tragedies of Indian cinema that I have seen.
Godfather 1: Ah!u00a0 Marlon Brando. A chilling movie about the mafia and it's one that stays with you forever.
Mughal-e-azam: I remember seeing this movie with my mother when I was in school. I wept a lot while watching it the sadness of unrequitted love. It gives me the chills even now.
Gown and Out
We don't like this new fashion trend. These shapeless ensembles should only be worn at the Rajneesh ashram (Mughda Godse) or at a party in Japan (Sushmita Sen).
