Injured Katrina Kaif backs out of awards show

Katrina Kaif has pulled out of an awards show, where she was set to perform on Saturday, following an injury on the set of Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. Sources close to the actress inform that she was hurt after a heavy object fell on her neck. Doctors have advised her against undertaking any physical activity for a few days.

When mid-day reached out to the actress, she was in a meeting with her doctor. Her spokesperson informed, "This is to clarify that Katrina Kaif will no longer perform at a popular film awards show, due to an injury she suffered on the sets [of Jagga Jasoos]. The doctors have advised her to rest and avoid strenuous activity. Katrina is extremely disappointed at being unable to work after suffering the injury. She is recuperating and will resume shortly."

While there was speculation of Deepika Padukone filling in for Katrina, the spokesperson of the awards show denied any such development.
