Amruta Patki is always at her fashionable best at her public appearances

Amruta Patki is always at her fashionable best at her public appearances. "But I am a sensible shopper," says the Marathi mulgi as she tells CS her shopping story:

Making the most

I never plan on a spree. Whenever I feel like shopping, I just head to the nearest mall. Also whenever I am out in a new place, I always leave my contact details. This way, I don't miss any sales and new collection reminders. And when abroad, I take one entire day out just to shop. One day of shopping in Dubai renews my entire wardrobe. Even here, there have been days when I've left a shop with some 15 - 20 bags in my hands!

Taste of panic

Once in Bangkok I had only four hours to shop prior to my flight. Malls in Bangkok are interconnected and so it's easy to get confused if you don't have a map handy. In my hurry, I forgot some of my shopping bags in one of the shops and couldn't recollect where I had kept them. Somehow I managed to pull out all my credit card customer copies and called all the shops. Thankfully I got my bags back. But I was already late and the evening traffic made me panic even more. I was almost in tears. Thankfully, I reached the airport just an hour-and-half prior to the departure time. But even then I didn't give up. I shopped at duty free till my flight was announced!

Sensible freak

I have a clear mind when it comes to shopping. I exactly know what I want and when. If I can't find it, I don't waste my money on substitutes. I now want to go to Brazil for shopping, as I've heard it is great for swimwear, summer clothes and workout gear.
