Actor John Abraham has unveiled the first look of his upcoming project, but instead of generating excitement, the AI-generated video has sparked criticism online. The actor, who was last seen in Tehran, shared a video on social media that featured him as a medieval sailor navigating rough seas.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, John posted an AI-generated clip showing his character sailing through violent waves as dramatic visuals unfolded around him. Accompanying the post, he wrote, "New Waters. New Winds. New Horizons. Setting sail into the unknown. Stay tuned."
While the mysterious teaser hinted at a new project, many social media users were less impressed by the execution.
Several netizens criticised the use of artificial intelligence and questioned the quality of the visuals.
One user commented, "Such poor AI," while another wrote, "Bollywood has found a new way to ruin movies, AI." A third user added, "At least make it better if you're using AI."
Several users also questioned whether the AI-generated teaser was an official glimpse of the project or merely a promotional concept, with many urging the makers to reveal more details about the film instead.
The reactions quickly flooded the comments section, with many expressing disappointment over the apparent reliance on AI-generated imagery instead of a traditional first-look reveal. Despite the criticism, John has not revealed any additional details about the project, keeping its title, plot and release plans under wraps.
Meanwhile, the actor is also gearing up for Force 3, the next instalment in the popular action franchise. Recently speaking about the project, John described the series as one he has always believed in.
"Force has always been a franchise I've believed in deeply," the actor said, adding that the third film will take the legacy of the action-thriller series forward on a bigger scale.
John also expressed excitement about welcoming Harshvardhan Rane to the franchise. "He has the presence, the energy and the hunger for it, and I think audiences are going to enjoy watching him in this space," he said.
Directed by Bhav Dhulia, known for projects like Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Freelancer, Force 3 will see John reprise his role as ACP Yashvardhan Singh, while details about Harshvardhan's character remain under wraps.
