Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently took fans by surprise after she was spotted wearing a mangalsutra and sindoor in Mumbai on the evening of Thursday, May 21. Soon after, the videos instantly went viral, and speculation began doing the rounds that the actress could have tied the knot secretly away from the public eye. The actress has now broken her silence on the viral videos.
In the viral videos, along with the mangalsutra and sindoor, the actress was also seen sporting a bindi, green bangles, and sunglasses while she made her way from the building to her car, accompanied by her security personnel.
Amid the growing speculation, Kangana took to Instagram stories to finally address the buzz around her âsecret wedding' rumours. The actress clarified that she has not gotten married, adding that the look was for a shoot. Taking to her Instagram Story on Friday, Kangana even stated that she had been receiving phone calls ever since her 'secret wedding' rumours made headlines.
Kangana wrote, "I am filming in and around the city every single day, some one clicked this random picture with character make up and now I am getting so many phone calls, but what is the big deal about the married woman look? Actors play all kinds of roles, I won't marry secretly I promise." (sic)
Prior to her clarification, Kangana also shared a note about shooting in the summer heat. She wrote, "News anchors from their AC studios are complaining about the temperature and heat wave outside, what about those like us who are filming outdoors with loads of added lights and enclosed spaces, ha ha stop complaining guys, life is great for as long as it's challenging, you feel alive if it's easy and predictable, it's like death, happy summer." (sic)
On the work front, the actress will be seen next in Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, which revolves around hospital staff who saved 400 lives during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film is set to release in theatres on June 12, 2026. The movie will clash with Diljit Dosanjh's starrer Main Vaapas Aaunga, helmed by Imitiaz Ali, starring Vedang Raina and Sharvari in the lead.
Following that, the actress also has a thriller with R. Madhavan and Queen 2 in her lineup.
