Kangana Ranaut
Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut, who is known to be vocal about her views and opinions, recently took to social media to call out the misuse of artificial intelligence after several AI-generated images of her emerged online. The images showed her pictures from Parliament wearing pant suits, whereas in reality she was originally dressed in sarees.
Taking to her Instagram story on Monday, December 29, Kangana voiced her frustration and disappointment over the edited images and called them deeply violating. She also clarified that the original photographs were taken during her visit to Parliament, where she was wearing sarees. The Queen actress also raised concerns about the rising trend of digitally altering public figures' appearances without consent.
Sharing an AI-generated post on her stories, Kangan wrote, "Originally, these are my pictures from the Parliament in saris. Stop using AI on my pictures." She further added, "This is violating beyond words, every day I wake up to see myself in various AI clothes, various makeups, even in edited photos."
The actor-politician also highlighted that decisions about her appearance and clothing are strictly personal. She urged people to stop creating and sharing such edits, saying, "People should stop dressing up others!! Please stop with these AI edits and let me choose/decide how I want to look and what I want to wear when is entirely my prerogative."
Kangana Ranaut has often been vocal about issues relating to personal freedom and choice. Notably, ever since she became an MP in the Lok Sabha, she has made it a point to wear sarees, or Indian attire, every time she goes to Parliament.
