Filming has officially wrapped on Daayra, the much-anticipated next film by acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Jointly produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, the film now enters post-production and is slated for a 2026 theatrical release.
Daayra is a gripping investigative crime thriller that explores how a diabolical act can trigger equal and opposite reactions, fracturing opinions across society. Rather than offering easy answers, Daayra encourages deeper thought, raising questions that will linger long after the story unfolds.

Junglee Pictures took to its Instagram to drop a photo of Meghna Gulzar, Kareena and Prithviraj to announce that filming was over. The caption read, "Months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration have come together to bring this story to life. Immense gratitude to the cast, crew, and everyone who made this journey possible. Onward to the next chapter! In Cinemas 2026"
The leading hero Prithviraj Sukumaran also shared the same photo on his Instagram account, expressing both delight and gratitude that filming had ended. Looking forward to the release, he wrote, "That's a wrap on Daayra The story we've lived on set will soon come alive for audiences everywhere. Grateful for this journey and can't wait for you to witness it on screen in cinemas in 2026"
Following Talvar and Raazi, Daayra marks Meghna Gulzar's third collaboration with Junglee Pictures, continuing a creative partnership known for delivering cinema that sparks conversation and critical acclaim.

Kareena Kapoor, on 13 December, treated fans to her candid BTS pictures with the ace director from the sets of their upcoming film Daayra. In the photos, Kareena and Meghna can be seen posing for the camera wearing salwar kameez and shooting in a farm, surrounded by straw, in a rural location. Kareena offered an intimate insight into their preparations.
Kareena also penned a sweet note on Instagram, calling Meghna a 'tigress'.
"To sum up in words the feeing I have had working with meghnagulzar will always be less...Daayra is nothing short of one of my most special films as it marks my first with the kind, gentle, passionate, smart and ever so sharp Meghna Gulzar... and to bring to life a subject that is so exciting...
