Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha makers react to viral ‘spectacles’ image: ‘Watch the film and then judge us’

The makers of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha- Shri Ram Ki have finally reacted to the viral 'spectacles' image that created a major buzz among netizens. They clarified that the viral image showing a member of the Vanar Sena wearing spectacles is not a frame from the theatrical film. The team has maintained that the image is promotional artwork and has been circulated on social media as a scene from the movie.

The image has triggered memes and discussions online, with several posts presenting it as an actual visual from the film. Responding to the claims, the makers have challenged those circulating the picture to identify where the alleged scene appears in the movie. The team's clarification comes amid the image gaining widespread attention, as they reiterated that the viral artwork should not be mistaken for footage from the theatrical release.

While speaking to India Today, the makers clarified, "If this visual is actually present in the film, share one genuine screenshot photographed inside a theatre, or give us the exact scene and time code where a vanar is shown wearing spectacles. We will respond publicly. But a promotional image being repeatedly circulated as though it is a scene from the movie is misleading."

They also stated that they are ready to release the footage from the theatrical version alongside the viral claims to let the audience compare both images that have been circulated and the appearance in the film to understand what is true. The director of the film, Abhishek Singh further stated that they aren't opposing the criticism but clarifying what is true and what isn't.

The makers further added, "Criticism is part of filmmaking, and nobody associated with our film expects that every person must have the same opinion. But criticism should be about the film people have actually watched. When promotional artwork, edited images or isolated material begins circulating as proof of something supposedly happening inside the movie, then, as filmmakers, we have a right to place the actual footage before the audience. Our request is very simple: watch the film and then judge us."

Earlier, at the press conference, Anjali Arora who played Sita also reacted to the film and her criticism, she said, "From the day my casting was announced, people had already decided how I would look as Sita without even watching one scene from the film. I have always said, 'don't judge Sita through your opinion about me.' Watch the role on screen and then share your opinions."
