Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, four years ago. Like any parents, the couple has been very protective of her. Priyanka often covers her daughter's face with an emoji while sharing pictures on Instagram. The actress has now revealed that she hired security largely for her daughter's safety. While she appreciates fans' love, she does not approve of being recorded without consent.

Priyanka Chopra on hiring bodyguards

Recently, while attending the Golden Globe Awards, Priyanka was spotted with bodyguards. Speaking to Variety, she said, "I am okay with being approached by anyone and taking photos, and they (the guards) know that I love people coming to talk to me. They are there to make sure we're not being recorded without consent."

She further added, "That's my biggest issue with everyone having cellphones. It happens often, especially with my daughter. We're in the park or having ice cream, and suddenly I'll see it online. My security is for that reason. Otherwise, I don't need it. Nobody's gonna kill me." Priyanka's daughter turned four last month.

In the same interview, Chopra addressed the gossip surrounding her relationship with husband Nick Jonas and said, "We're eight years in. If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that's their choice. I stopped thinking about it. I don't know what it was about us that rubbed people the wrong way. I think there was the intercultural nature of it - different countries, different religions, and the age gap. It was very hurtful. And we both, instead of looking outward, just looked at each other and were like, ‘It doesn't matter.' So it's like water off a duck's back now."
