The Producers Guild of India had its annual general meeting on September 22 in Mumbai, where the members formed its Council of Management for 2026-27. Actor-producers Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan, as well as filmmaker Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar have been elected to the newly constituted council. In their new role, the four members will join the Guild's decision-making body.
Producer Shibasish Sarkar was re-elected as the president, while Manish Goswami, Madhu Bhojwani, Ankur Garg, and others will serve as vice presidents. A source said, "Besides Aamir, Hrithik, Karan, and Zoya, the council for 2026-27 includes Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker, Fazila Allana, Rajan Shahi, Rajkumar Hirani, Ritesh Sidhwani, and many more."
Speaking about his re-election, Goswami said, "I am grateful to the council for re-electing me for the 12th consecutive time as vice-president and to serve our fraternity."
The Guild represents India's leading film, television, and digital content producers. The body works with the government and industry stakeholders on policy and regulatory issues, promotes workplace standards, provides services such as CBFC-related certification support, and facilitates international collaborations.
