Radhika Apte recalls being asked to shoot an action scene in bra and underwear

Radhika Apte has spoken about the way women's bodies and intimacy are portrayed on screen. The actor, who is currently seen in Lust Stories 3 on Netflix, recalled being asked to add unscripted kisses to scenes. She also revealed being questioned about performing an action sequence in a bra and underwear.

In an exclusive with Zoom, Radhika Apte spoke about women's bodies and intimate scenes on screen. She believes, "It is a complicated subject, actually, and it's so important to ask: What is it that you want to say? Because sometimes I feel, and I do have a reservation about using female nudity and sexual intimacy on screen, because I do feel that sometimes a lot is said by not showing it as well."

Recalling uncomfortable instances, she shared, "In the beginning, I had done about four or five films where I was entirely nude. A lot of people used to think, ‘Yeh toh karlegi na.' So, I have to tell them, ‘Listen, I actually will not do it.' Because I've done it now, I know even more, and I want to ask, ‘Why do you want it? Why do you want me to kiss him right now?' They say, ‘Karlo na thoda.' This is the answer I get from a lot of people. You would be surprised. ‘Just a little kissing, you know, 15 seconds of improvisation.' I said, ‘Sorry, what?'"

Revealing another shocking request, she continued, "There was a set where they were like, ‘Can you do this action sequence? What if you don't put the buttons on?' I said, ‘It's an action sequence. Then the shirt will move na, right? Basic physics.' They were like, ‘What if you do it with just the bra and underwear?' I was like, ‘What are you trying to make me do?'"

Apart from this, Radhika recently opened up about the trauma she experienced after an intimate scene from one of her films was leaked. The actor said the incident left her feeling unsafe, forcing her to stay indoors for four days as she struggled to step out of her home.
