The recently released English trailer of Ramayana has become one of the biggest talking points online, with fans praising its stunning visuals, larger-than-life scale and powerful performances. While Ranbir Kapoor's Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi's Sita and Yash's menacing Ravana have dominated discussions, another performance quietly caught viewers' attention, the commanding voice of Yash's Ravana.
The deep, authoritative voice behind Yash's Ravana in the English dubbed trailer belongs to actor Mohan Kapur. Known for his rich baritone and impressive body of work across films, television and international projects, Kapur lends an added layer of menace and gravitas to Ravana's introduction in the trailer.
His powerful narration has left many fans wondering who was behind the voice, with social media users praising how seamlessly it complements Yash's imposing screen presence. The English version of the trailer has especially found appreciation among international audiences, with Kapur's voice helping elevate the larger-than-life presentation of the epic.
Mohan Kapur is no stranger to major global franchises. Marvel fans will instantly recognise him as Yusuf Khan, Kamala Khan's father, from Ms. Marvel and The Marvels. He has also appeared in acclaimed international productions such as Homeland, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Zero Dark Thirty, while continuing to remain a familiar face in Hindi television and cinema.
Over the years, Kapur has built a reputation for his commanding screen presence and distinctive voice, making him a natural fit for a character as formidable as Ravana. His addition to the English trailer has been widely appreciated by fans, many of whom admitted they initially believed the voice belonged to Yash himself.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, alongside an ensemble cast. Produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the mythological epic is being mounted on an unprecedented scale.
The first part of Ramayana is scheduled to release on November 6, with the second instalment set to arrive in 2027.
