Watch: Rani Mukerji visits Badrinath and Kedarnath temples days after mother's death

Actor Rani Mukerji was recently seen visiting Badrinath Dham and the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand on Thursday. The actor offered prayers to the deities. The actor was seen arriving at the temple around noon before heading straight to the Badrinath temple to seek blessings.

Ranu Mukerji visits Badrinath and Kedarnath

Rani was seen performing prayers at the Badrinath temple on Thursday. She also visited the shrine dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, offering prayers and receiving prasad. She was seen dressed in a traditional outfit, wearing a light-coloured kurta and salwar. She paired it with a yellow scarf and a puffer jacket to stay warm. She also had several flower garlands around her neck. The actress was seen deeply involved in the prayers with folded hands.

Her presence at the shrine drew attention from pilgrims and locals at the temple. Several people were seen gathering around her and clicking pictures with her. In some of the videos, Rani was seen inside the temple premises, carrying a small offering.

Earlier today, videos of the actress from the Kedarnath temple also surfaced online. She was seen walking towards the shrine and later posing outside the temple. Rani, who was last seen in Mardaani 3, seemingly took time out to seek blessings at Uttarakhand's most revered pilgrimage sites.

Rani Mukerji's mother dies

Rani Mukerji's mother, Krishna Mukerji, passed away at the age of 75 on September 22, 2026. According to IANS, the news was confirmed by Yash Raj Films via an official statement, in which the family requested privacy to grive the loss.

"With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji's mother, Mrs Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon. The family is deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support and respectfully requests privacy during this time of immense grief," the statement from YRF read.

Krishna Mukerji was a constant presence in daughter Rani's life. She was seen accompanying the actress at several public appearances over the years. The mother-daughter duo was known to share a close bond. Rani had often spoken about her mother on multiple occasions. Meanwhile, Krishna was also associated with Bengali cinema. She had worked as a playback singer during her career.
