Over 15 years into his Bollywood journey, Ranveer Singh has gone from a promising debutant to one of Hindi cinema's most versatile and bankable stars. From playing the street-smart Bittoo in Band Baaja Baaraat to bringing larger-than-life characters like Bajirao, Khilji, Murad, Rocky and Hamza to the screen, the actor has rarely played it safe. Now, after a string of box-office and global milestones, Ranveer is stepping into a new territory - film production.
Now, Ranveer is taking his ambitions a step further with Pralay. While he will headline the film, the project will also mark his debut as a producer under his newly established production house, Maa Kasam Films.
For Ranveer, the move signals an expansion from being the face of a film to having a greater role in shaping what audiences eventually see on screen. After years of building a reputation around transformative performances and commercial successes, producing could give the actor a chance to explore the filmmaking process from another side.
With Pralay, Ranveer will therefore be juggling two roles, actor and producer.
The actor's recent success with the Dhurandhar franchise has added another feather to his cap. With Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Ranveer reportedly became the first Indian actor to headline a Hindi film that crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in domestic net collections. The two-part franchise has also collectively crossed the Rs 3,000 crore mark worldwide, putting it among the biggest Indian film franchises.
His overseas run has been equally noteworthy. Ranveer has reportedly become the only Indian actor with four films that have crossed the USD 10 million mark in North America. The list includes Padmaavat, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The Dhurandhar phenomenon has also travelled to streaming. With 37 million views, the film reportedly became Netflix's most-watched non-English film of 2026, marking another global milestone for the franchise beyond its theatrical run.
And if his career so far is anything to go by, this latest reinvention could be another interesting chapter in the actor's already colourful Bollywood story.
