The US Department of Justice recently released a new batch of documents pertaining to the Epstein Files. Several new names have surfaced in the documents and email exchanges between late convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and others. The latest documents also mention Indian-American author Deepak Chopra. While Chopra reacted to his name appearing in the emails he allegedly wrote, it has led to further discussion on social media. Actress Richa Chadha also criticised Chopra over the issue.

Richa Chadha slams Deepak Chopra

Richa Chadha took to social media to reshare Chopra's statement and expressed her disapproval. She wrote, "If life makes you a Deepak, be a Mohammad, not Chopra. (vomit emoji)"

In the newly released documents, an email attributed to Chopra and addressed to Epstein read, "God is a construct. Cute girls are real."

Reacting to his mention in the infamous files, Chopra wrote on X, "I am deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case, and I unequivocally condemn abuse and exploitation in all forms. I want to be clear: I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct. Any contact I had was limited and unrelated to abusive activity (sic)."

Additionally, Chopra acknowledged the tone of past email exchanges, saying, "Some past email exchanges have surfaced that reflect poor judgment in tone. I regret that and understand how they read today, given what was publicly known at the time. My focus remains on supporting accountability, prevention, and efforts that protect and support survivors."

Anurag Kashyap's name appears in Epstein Files

According to recent reports, Anurag Kashyap is mentioned as the "Bollywood guy" in email exchanges between Epstein and individuals such as Giuseppe Bersani, Gino Yu, and Ornella Corazza, in the Epstein Files.

The emails allegedly discussed Epstein's planned trips to Cuba and other locations, and mentioned Kashyap as one of the expected guests at workshops on Buddhism, technology, and medicine. In one of the messages, Kashyap was also described as "a famous Bollywood director." Notably, his name appears alongside other well-known personalities such as Ben Goertzel, Bruce Damer, and DJ Spooky.

Although Kashyap's name appears in the files, it does not imply that the filmmaker attended any of the events or was involved in Epstein's criminal activities. There is no evidence of Kashyap and Epstein being present at the same place at the same time. Furthermore, Kashyap's clarification has put to rest the speculation surrounding the Dacoit actor.
