Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana are gearing up for the release of Udta Teer and recently headed to Punjab for the film's promotions. While the duo embraced the local flavour with lassi and tractor rides, Sara also channelled her mother, Amrita Singh's, iconic Punjabi look from Waaris in a blush-pink suit.
For the Punjab promotions of Udta Teer, Sara Ali Khan embraced the spirit of the region in a blush-pink traditional suit. The actor also shared a series of pictures with her mother, Amrita Singh, drawing a sweet connection to her mother's iconic Punjabi looks from the 1988 film Waaris. Amrita can be seen in a similar pink Punjabi suit while shooting for the film's song, and Sara's latest look appeared to channel that nostalgic fashion moment. Sharing the pictures with her mother, Sara captioned the post with the song's lyrics, "Mommy did you ever think aapke pyaar ki Umar ek din itni hogi."
In the pics, she is seen drinking lassi and sitting on a tractor with co-star Ayushmann Khurrana. She also addressed the audience in Punjabi, shared the release date of her film, and urged them to watch it in theatres.
While Ayushmann wore a denim outfit paired with a white shirt that had "Udta Teer" written on it, the video ended with Sara posing with Ayushmann, resting her head on his shoulder. Ayushmann also drove a tractor while Sara sat beside him, giving her a glimpse of Punjabi farm life and allowing her to explore the countryside.
Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmad, a Pakistani spy who suffers from memory loss. The ensemble cast also includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Suhail Nayyar, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Smita Tambe in prominent roles.
The makers of the upcoming film have recently pushed the film's release date. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on October 9, will now arrive in cinemas on October 23.
This has been done to accommodate better footfall in the theatres after films like Drishyam: The Conclusion and The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest have completed their theatrical run.
