Actor Shaad Randhawa is a sports freak

He not only loves scanning all the sports channels but also roughs it out on the field or court. He might not be a gym junkie, but he certainly believes in staying fit. He shares his health tips with CS:

Being a sport

I love sports and play cricket, tennis and squash on a regular basis. Every weekend, my friends and I get together for an exciting cricket match. As I stay close to Jogger's Park, I often go for a jog or a run. It is a good cardio workout. Having a varied regime helps you work on the different aspects of fitness. I go to the gym daily and workout for a couple of hours.u00a0 I do a lot of cardio and weight training as it helps me build stamina.

Food first

You need to be particular about your diet if you want to stay energetic and fit. I have five-six small meals in a day that keep my metabolism high. In between meals, I have protein shakes or nuts. Lunch and dinner consists of steamed fish, boiled chicken, a bowl of vegetables, etc. As a rule, I avoid carbs at night. But I have a major sweet tooth, so I indulge in sweets only in the mornings or afternoons.

Fitness tips

It's important to do a proper warm up before exercising. Workingout all of a sudden can cause serious injuries. Don't waste time in the gym chatting on the phone or with your gym buddies. Complement your exercise with a healthy diet.

Just for kicks

I regularly practise kickboxing. My trainer comes over to my place thrice a week and we work-out for two-three hours. Kickboxing is a great form of cardio and strengthens your thighs and calves. But you need a proper warm up before you start the exercise.
