Wants to find ways to make education system more student-friendly
Shahid Kapoor has finally found a cause to take up. Unhappy with students across the country committing suicides, Shahid has decided to travel to different cities, meet school and college students and their parents, and discuss ways to modify the educational system. He claims it is a very disturbing fact that even one failure in an exam can compel students to take their lives. The suicides are proof that there is a fault in the system somewhere and it needs to be addressed immediately. He now wants to discuss the issue with students and their parents and come up with ways by which they can reduce the pressure on students and stop them from ending their own lives. He also believes parents should understand if a child wants to follow a different path from the one they want him or her to follow and should not try to live their dreams through their children.
In January this year, the country saw a sudden spate of students committing suicides for varying reasons, failing in an exam to teachers scolding them in class. In a space of 24 hours between January 4 and 5, three Mumbai students committed suicide.
