Exclusive: Shekhar Suman wanted to invite Raghav Chadha on Movers and Shakers 3, but now won't, here's why

Shekhar Suman's late-night talk show, Movers and Shakers, is one of the most iconics hows in the late 1990s. The actor brought back the show for a second season in 2012. And now, for fans who had been missing the show in 2026, there could be some good news. Shekhar Sumar recently spoke to mid-day and hinted at the return of the show for a third season. Not only that, but he also revealed who he wanted as the first guest.

When asked if a third season of Movers and Shakers was on the cards, he had a hopeful response. "Just wait and watch what is happening too soon," he said.

And who is the first person he would like to invite on the show? He laughs and says, "The first person I wanted was Raghav Chadha. But after what he did, I didn't have the heart to call him. I really wanted him because, you know, he was getting so popular amongst Gen Z, and he was coming across as a vociferous sort of achiever and orator in the parliament and raising common man's problems. And then he did a volte-face, and then everybody was disappointed."

Nevertheless, he says he still has some very interesting guests on his mind. "You will see, and you will be extremely, extremely happy," he adds.

For the unversed, Shekhar was referring to the political switch of Raghav Chadha. A former Aam Admi Party MP, Chadha defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in April 2026, despite having previously referred to the BJP as a party of "illiterate goons."

Interestingly, Shekhar too had joined the BJP back in 2024; however, he remained absent in poltics after that. Later, he revealed that he left within 24 hours to focus on other commitments.

During the interaction, we also asked the host if there were any guests back in the day whom he could not manage to get on the show. Shekhar candidly reveals, "I wanted to get Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a former prime minister, on the show. And I wanted to get Sahab (late actor Dilip Kumar) and Amitabh Bachchan. These are three people I would have loved to have."
