Imagine four artistes from three countries coming together to create a song. The result is Muevete, the latest single produced by musicians Siddhant Bhatia and Raghav Mehta, Chilean musician CristObal "Tibo" Gajardo, and Venezuelan musician Raniero Palm.
Muevete has been designed as a blend of Indian instrumentation and philosophy with contemporary Spanish pop - think the sounds of sitar and tabla sharing space with Latin percussion, guitars, drums, and Venezuelan horns. "We didn't approach it by trying to give every tradition equal space. That can sometimes make a track feel calculated. We were more interested in making everything feel like it belonged to the same song," said Mehta.

For Bhatia, the collaboration extended beyond its instrumentation. He decided to pair Spanish lyrics with a Sanskrit invocation to Lord Ganesha. "The idea was to create a Spanish pop track with a spiritual twist," he shared.
The dance number's starting point was Muladhara, the root chakra associated with grounding, stability, and the beginning of a spiritual journey. It's also associated with Lord Ganesha. Bhatia elaborated,
"That's where the connection between Sanskrit and Spanish became natural. The Spanish lyrics encourage physical movement, while the Sanskrit invocation brings awareness, grounding, and spiritual intention into that movement."
Working across India, Chile, and Venezuela presented logistical challenges. But they were unfazed, said Mehta, adding, "The four of us came together because we wanted to create something new, not another collaboration that sounds like something you have already heard."
