Taapsee Pannu has opened up about her long-standing feud with Kangana Ranaut and the differences in their personalities. The actress said she has never met Kangana, either before or after their public spat. Taapsee also opened up about joining politics in the future.
Speaking about her feud with Kangana, Taapsee told India Today, "I haven't met her. I didn't meet her before when these so-called issues started. I haven't met her now as well. My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things and hers... she stands by hers. So, I think that's enough for everybody to look and decide who comes from where."
When asked why she had never considered entering politics, Taapsee stated, "I am too honest and vulnerable for this. Also, I want to do a few more films. I am not at all considering joining, and I don't have the DNA for that. I am an educated citizen of this country."
The controversy dates back to 2019, when Taapsee praised the trailer of Kangana Ranaut's film Judgementall Hai Kya without mentioning Kangana by name. Rangoli Chandel, Kangana's sister, took offence and called Taapsee a sasti copy of Kangana Ranaut.
Taapsee had addressed her past feud with Kangana in an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, saying she never clashed with her and has not spoken against her. Responding to the âsasti copy' remark, she said she holds no grudge and would respectfully greet Kangana if they meet. When asked whether she would be open to a friendship with Kangana, the Pink actress said, "Absolutely. I've always said that if I ever see her around, I will definitely go up to her⦠Technically, she is my senior. Why wouldn't I go up to her and respectfully say hello?"
The actress was last seen in Assi, in which she played a fierce lawyer making sure a rape victim gets justice. She will next be seen in Netflix's Gandhari, in which she plays a determined mother in relentless search of her daughter. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on September 3.
