There are only a few things more divine than the art of dancing, which is what Guru Sau Sandhya Damle aims to teach at her institute, Nritya Darpan Academy of Fine Arts. Damle trained in classical dance forms since the age of 16 and holds a degree in Bharatnatyam from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalay, Damle has performed around 35 arangetrams and trained more than 5000 students till date. u201c My students are important to me, and I respect their talent,u201d says Damle.
One of her successful choreographies is Geet Govinda, a depiction of love, relation and devotion of Radha and Krishna. The ballet, set on the life of Lord Krishna is a description of relationships between the deity and gopis of Vrindavan particularly Radha. Geet Govinda is based on the music album with the same name, by Pandit Jasraj.
u201c Geet Govinda has changed my life and given me the recognition I enjoy today. Almost 10,000 people have seen my shows,u201d she adds. Damle plans to go digital with her events soon, and wishes to arrange a dance movement for people of all ages, who love to dance.
