London: Embattled liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya has claimed that the Enforcement Directorate ( ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) have treated him u2018 unreasonablyu2019 over the past four years.

Mallya is appealing against his extradition order to India on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to an alleged R 9,000 crores in unpaid bank loans.

His lawyers told the British High Court that he had been the victim of the airline industryu2019s misfortunes and had no fraudulent intentions behind seeking loans.

u201c The ED attached the assets on the complaint by the banks that I was not paying them. I have not committed any offences under the PMLA ( Prevention of Money Laundering Act) that the ED should suo moto attach my assets,u201d he told reporters on Thursday.

u201c I am saying, please banks take your money. The ED is saying no, we have a claim over these assets. So, the ED and the banks are fighting over the same assets. What they are doing to me for the last four years is unreasonable,u201d he said.
