As campaigning for the second and final round of the Bihar Assembly elections came to an end on Sunday, Bollywood actress Neha Sharma added glamour and excitement to the political scene, leading a big roadshow in support of her father, Congress candidate Ajit Sharma.
Ajit Sharma, the Grand Alliance candidate for the Bhagalpur Assembly seat, rode alongside his daughter in an open jeep, as thousands of supporters followed in a long convoy of vehicles waving Congress flags and singing slogans like "Ajit Sharma Zindabad" and "Congress Party Zindabad."
Neha Sharma, waving to the applauding masses, urged voters to give her father a landslide victory. "My father and your leader have worked tirelessly to advance the city's development. Bhagalpur deserves to make progress; please support him once more," she addressed the audience.
Speaking to the party supporters, Neha stated, "The people of Bhagalpur have always showered my father with love and blessings. He has left no stone unturned in serving this region. As a daughter of Bhagalpur, I appeal to all of you to bless him with victory once more."
Prior to the roadshow, Neha and Ajit Sharma visited the Budhanath Temple to pray. Their procession began outside the temple grounds and continued through important portions of the city, including Naya Bazaar, Sarai, Narga Chowk, Champa Nagar, Medini Nagar, and Tatarpur, before ending near the train station.
Crowds of ladies and youth gathered at various locations to greet Neha, showering her with garlands and flowers.
Ajit Sharma, running for re-election for the third time, will face BJP candidate Rohit Pandey from the NDA. Neha, who has been actively helping her father's campaign, has also participated in roadshows during prior election seasons.
Neha Sharma is a renowned actress best known for her Tanhaji, Bad Newzz and more. The actress has also been a part of multiple OTT projects such as 36 Day and Illegal. Coming from a political family, the actress often leads her father's campaign from Bhagalpur and seeks support from the crowd for her father's victory in Bihar elections.
