Singapore and Jakarta might seem like cliched holiday destinations, but tarot card reader Munisha Khatwani had the time of her life in these two cities recently. She threw caution to the wind; she shopped all she wanted, ate to her heart's content putting on 3kgs, partied like there was no tomorrow and even turned DJ for a day. She shares a page from her travel diary with CS:
Buy the way
I happened to be in Singapore for Christmas and the atmosphere there was truly amazing. Lights adorned all the shops and decorated Christmas trees everywhere. I even spotted one made from Ferrero Rocher chocolates and teddies. I've never seen such human traffic anywhere. The malls, clubs, eateries were all buzzing with people from different parts of the world. Artificial snow sprays covered Orchard Street, so I did manage to have a white Christmas.
I shopped till I dropped. With every shop displaying the 'sale' signboard, practising thrift was next to impossible. I practically lived in the Bebe, Zara, Calvin Klein outlets. I bought loads of clothes and shoes, but my best buy was a Chanel wallet.

Rock DJ
I was nearly broke by the time I reached Jakarta to be with my family. But I feel that you can't really stick to a budget when you're on a holiday. At least that's how I pacified myself every time I pulled out my credit card to make a purchase. I visited a bar called Bibliotheque, which means library in French, and absolutely loved the place. It's made up of artificial books. But the highlight of the trip was my visit to Crown Plaza. The music there wasn't too great so those who knew that I was coming from India roped me in to fill in as the DJ. We were about 40 of us in the room grooving to the music on my iPod. Fortunately I had about 4000 songs on it, 1000 of which I'd downloaded just before setting out on the trip.u00a0
Happy holiday
Just being with my family was a great feeling. In the mornings I would either watch my cousins play tennis or go for a swim. I managed to catch all the English films that hadn't released in India. This certainly was one of my best holidays ever and I'm looking forward to visiting Singapore again in June.
