Can you hear it? Bollywood actors clap on Janata Curfew to thank COVID-19 fighters

Salim Khan, Bobby Deol, Tanya Deol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, Poonam Sinha, Kiara Advani, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aaradhya, Shweta Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Sophie Choudry, Malaika Arora, Varun Dhawan, father David Dhawan, brother Rohit Dhawan and mother Laali, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar and many other Bollywood celebs responded to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and expressed their gratitude for the medical professionals and others engaged in combating the coronavirus disease.

Bollywood actors clap on Janata Curfew to thank COVID-19 fighters

With vessels, bells, cheers, and claps, Bollywood's brightest extended their full support, as thunderous applause for those serving India amidst the pandemic reverberated through the country. Akshay Kumar along with his neighbour Hrithik Roshan came out of their sea-facing houses to clap for the unsung heroes. Akshay Kumar, on social media wrote: "Taking a moment to appreciate those who do not have this luxury of staying at home and [are] working tirelessly to keep us safe. Thank you to all the essential-service providers for your selfless work."

Hrithik Roshan, on social media wrote: "A big salute to all the essential workers of the nation selflessly putting their lives at risk to service and safeguard our society."

Arjun Kapoor and girlfriend Malaika Arora were snapped together. Well, can you also spot Sophie Choudry, a floor above the couple's house? Sophie wrote on Instagram, "Eternal gratitude to all those out there fighting the battle to keep us safe, to those who are risking themselves to exposure to keep us safe or to simply keep our cities running as normally as possible! Forever grateful to the real heroes out there. Good to see you, my gorgeous neighbour, @malaikaaroraofficial"

Arjun Kapoor, on social media wrote: "Play your part, don't be a corrupt citizen. Be the difference between the stupid and the smart. Try and respect what's happening around you and be thankful you have a chance to help in your own way."

Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor also took part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Janata Curfew clapping initiative, to pay tribute to all those who are working round the clock to eradicate COVID-19 from India.

Veteran actress Hema Malini, who blew the shankh to salute the heroes, tweeted: "On a lighter note but also fully committed to Janta Curfew as well as the 5 mins of thanksgiving to all the medical personnel & all those who are doing so much to keep our country safe from the Corona - this is me practising blowing the shankh in deference to the PM's request."

Amitabh Bachchan along with his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya took out a moment to ring a bell and clap for the people involved in fighting against coronavirus.

Big B called Janata Curfew "an unbelievable success". "India has created HISTORY .. !! #JanataCurfew an unbelievable success .. and at 5 pm .. the entire country on their balconies roof tops gates and doors applauding the true heroes of the Nation .. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS !I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN JAI HIND Flag of India," Amitabh tweeted. His daughter Shweta Bachchan and her daughter Navya Naveli Nanda was also present.

"Thank you to all those brave hearts risking their lives to keep us safe," wrote Kiara Advani on her Instagram story, as she posted a video of hers while banging a thaali (dish) in her balcony.

Sonakshi Sinha's mother Poonam Sinha too joined in the Janata Curfew clapping initiative and was seen clapping from her balcony.

Shraddha Kapoor and her family - father Shakti Kapoor and brother Siddhanth Kapoor expressed their gratitude for the medical professionals and others engaged in combating the coronavirus disease by joining the clapping initiative. "This is for everyone who is helping fight the virus," wrote Shraddha alongside a video of the trio.

Deepika Padukone was also seen applauding the medical professionals from the balcony of her home. Ranveer Singh shared the actor's picture on Instagram and captioned her picture as: "Thank you to our Heroes."

Anupam Kher wrote on social media: "The whole country echoed with the sounds of gratitude." Sharing a video of him banging a thali at his balcony, the veteran actor thanked "to all those who tirelessly and selflessly helped others in the difficult times".

Anil Kapoor held a thaali in his hand and was seen beating plates with his neighbours to pay tribute to all those who are working round the clock to eradicate COVID-19 from India.

Kareena Kapoor Khan was clicked as the actress stepped out in her balcony to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Janata Curfew clapping initiative.

Bobby Deol was also clicked with his wife Tanya as the couple clapped for the people involved in fighting against coronavirus.

Salim Khan came out in his balcony to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Janata Curfew clapping initiative, while his son-actor Salman Khan took to Instagram to post a video urging people to stay home and not assume that the Janata curfew is not a public holiday!

Aaditya Thackeray, on social media wrote: "Standing with heroes, standing for heroes, clapping for heroes."
