Dia Mirza and host of other celebrities took part in a beach clean-up drive in Mahim, which was led by actor-producer Pragya Kapoor among others. Pragya took to her Instagram account to share photos and wrote, "What better way to celebrate #RepublicDay than to take another step towards getting back our clean Mahim Beach. Today was about celebrating, not only our country but its citizens, the wonderful volunteers of the @mahimbeachcleanup led by @indranilsm and @rabia.tewari! [sic]" All pictures/Yogen Shah

Pragya Kapoor further added, "Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us. Seeing all of you on a Sunday morning, on a national holiday made me feel so happy and encouraged. Together, we can do it. [sic]"

Tanishaa Mukerji also took part in the beach clean up drive at Mahim. Tanishaa took ton Instagram to share pictures of other participating with others. She captioned the images: "Republic day beach cleanup on mahim beach! Great job @pragyakapoor_ cleaning our beaches are actually cleaning our oceans! So the dirt doesn't go back in with the tide ... as my friend @afrozshah_ has always told me... [sic]"

Sacred Games star Elnaaz Norouzi took to her Instagram account to share a video of her celebrating Republic Day by participating in the Mahim beach clean-up drive and wrote, "Here are some moments from this morning's "Let's own our beach" campaign at Mahim beach, Mumbai. It's about time to take responsibility for our actions and initiate a change. This Republic day, let's make a promise to work towards making this city and it's beaches garbage and plastic free. The Change begins with YOU. SAY NO TO PLASTIC [sic]."
