Bappi Lahiri passes away: Ila Arun, Sakshi Tanwar, Poonam Dhillon pay respects at singer's home in Juhu

Bappi Lahiri, who popularised disco music in Indian cinema in the 80s and 90s, passed away following multiple health issues on Tuesday night at CritiCare Hospital in Juhu. The 69-year-old music composer had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. The whole nation is mourning the demise of veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri, who left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday night.

 

Popularly called the 'Disco King', Bappi Da will always be the most iconic musical personality of Indian cinema.

A lot of celebs, including Chunky Panday, Ila Arun, Abhijeet, Poonam Dhillon Sakshi Tanwar, Sophie Choudry were clicked at Bappi Lahiri's home to pay their last respects.

Earlier in the day, several Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Kajol among many others shared heartfelt tribute messages for the late singer.

Best known for his iconic compositions in 'Wardat', 'Disco Dancer', 'Namak Halaal', 'Dance Dance', 'Commando', 'Saheb', 'Gang Leader', 'Sailaab' and 'Sharaabi', Bappi Lahiri had popularised disco music in the country from the 1980s to 1990s.

 

Veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri is no more. He passed away at the age of 69 in Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital. A host of celebrities visited the late singer's Juhu home to pay their last respects.

Actor-Director Rakesh Roshan snapped by the shutterbugs at Bappi Lahiri's residence.

Shaan, the popular Bollywood singer, also arrived at Bappi Da's home to offer condolences.

For the unversed, Bappi Lahiri was hospitalised in April last year as well after he had tested positive for coronavirus.

After hearing about Bappi Lahiri's demise, several fans took to social media to pay tribute to the legendary singer.

"He had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home, following which he was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) last night," Dr Deepak Namjoshi said.

Alka Yagnik visited Bappi Lahiri's residence in Mumbai to pay homage to the late hitmaker. She was captured by the paparazzi while making her way to Bappi Lahiri's house. For the unversed, Bappi Lahiri had collaborated with Alka Yagnik on several songs, especially in Bengali films. 'Phool To Amari Chilo', 'Tomar Naam Likhe Debo', and 'Aajker Prem' are some of their successful collaborations in Bengali.

Bappi Lahiri's doctor Deepak Namjoshi confirmed the news about his demise. According to the doctor, the 'Disco Dancer' hitmaker died last night due to multiple health issues. Dr Vishwajeet Chaterjee arrived at Bappi Da's home to pay his last respects.

Yesteryear actor Dhiraj Kumar arrived at Bappi Lahiri's Juhu home to offer his last respects to the entire family.

Sophie Choudry was also present to pay last respects to the entire Lahiri family.

Kolhapure sisters - Padmini and Tejaswini, who recently lost Lata Mangeshkar, also arrived to pay last respects to Bappi Da.
