Karan Johar's Met Gala debut in 2026 is clearly one of his most iconic looks. The filmmaker wore a custom Manish Malhotra, inspired by Raja Ravi Varma, carrying Varma’s imagery across a hand-painted ensemble, with zardozi borders, three-dimensional pillars, lotuses and swans, and a hand-painted jacket lining.

Karan rocked this customised black silk velvet sherwani featuring hand-embroidered gold sequin leopard and tiger motifs.

Bringing in some drama, Karan wore this fun graphic leather jacket, pairing it with a bolo tie and classy eyewear.

Posing against the skyline of New York, Karan Johar exudes style and class in a striking red KidSuper Watercolour Girl Coat, layered over a black turtleneck t-shirt.

Karan wore this sharply tailored, all-black base consisting of an open-collar shirt and wide-legged, fluid trousers with a prominent, heavily embellished gold sash at the waist that incorporated traditional zardozi embroidery, during his Met Gala appearance.

Who said flowing silhouettes are only for women? Karan aces this black velvet tuxedo jacket adorned with intricate, hand-embroidered crystal vein waves with architectural embroidery and glass bead detailing that creates a textured, flowing silhouette on one side.

Keeping it delicate and traditional yet stylish, Karan wears an ivory, sherwani-style open jacket in organza. It featured extensive handcrafted bugle-bead and pearl embroidery, layered over a sheer lace shirt.

Karan makes heads turn in this custom white and black tuxedo, featuring intricate beaded embroidery on the shoulder, which adds a touch of drama and glam.

Another black velvet tuxedo, but this time it features silver embroidery over one shoulder and the waist, which makes the outfit look striking and refined.

Karan always has ways to take a classic tuxedo from meh to wow. This custom-made black velvet tuxedo designed, featuring intricate crystal embellishments on the lapels, is just one example.

Karan shines in this metallic suit featuring a striking textured finish. He perfectly complements to outfit with designer eyewear and bespoke jewellery.

Blending the dupatta trend into men's fashion, Karan wears an ivory bandhgala layered over a ruffled shirt, accompanied by a cream zari dupatta.
