Madhuri Dixit has impressed us all with her performances for over 2 decades in iconic films like Devdas, Beta, Ram Lakha, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and many others. While Shriram Nene is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in US.
The couple is parents to two teenage boys. They welcomed their first son Arin in 2003, and their second child Ryan was born in 2005.
While many assume that Madhuri’s relationship with Shriram is an arranged one, it was completely the other. Madhuri's brother, Ajit Dixit, played cupid between the couple.
At that time, she was coping with breakup from Sanjay Dutt, her brother insisted her to meet his friend-cum-cardiovascular surgeon in the US. The two were introduced to each other when Madhuri's brother hatched a plan and invited Dr Nene's family over dinner.
The actress was hesitant about the meeting, but Dr Nene's personality impressed her. She admired his charm and intelligence.
Shriram Nene, was completely unaware of the maddening stardom and fame Madhuri had carried along with her. The couple dated for quite sometime before exchanging wedding vows in 1999.
Considering Madhuri’s stardom, the actress and her family decided to conduct their wedding ceremonies in the U.S. quite secretively from the media glare. And therefore, the couple got hitched on October 17, 1999.
Madhuri decided to take the plunge nonetheless and took a sabbatical from acting right after. She decided to leave her acting career at its peak and moved to the US.
After their secret wedding, the couple hosted a grand reception in Mumbai. They flew to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
She returned to the work scene with Aaja Nachle in 2007. It was in 2011 when Madhuri and Shriram thought of returning to their motherland, India and shifted base again.
Since then, Shriram has been a YouTuber on food and health, and also opened a production house with Madhuri, RnM Moving Pictures.
Sometime back, Madhuri had talked about her marriage in a video shared on Sriram’s YouTube channel. She said, “We always had that partnership where we looked after each other and made sure the kids were always looked after and loved. There are times when it is difficult but there are times when we know whatever we are doing in life is for the good and is something we both want.”
