The actress has now set the record straight and confirmed their divorce amidst the growing buzz. The couple took to their Instagram, and shared a joint post in which they confirmed they are parting ways, and requested privacy.

The story of Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar began in 2018 when they first met at a New Year’s celebration in Dubai via some friends.
Suraj Nambiar was initially unaware of Mouni's popularity. Although their first interaction was brief, it marked the beginning of a connection that would slowly develop over time.
In the early stages of their relationship, distance proved to be a challenge, with Suraj living in Dubai and Mouni based in Mumbai. Despite being in a long-distance relationship, they made constant efforts to spend time together, frequently travelling to meet one another.
As they continued to meet during Mouni Roy’s frequent visits to Dubai, a friendship gradually evolved into a romantic relationship. The actress kept her relationship under wraps.
Their relationship first drew attention after a friend shared a poolside photograph featuring the couple. After dating for two years, Mouni met Suraj’s parents at Mandira Bedi’s residence.
The two got married in a grand destination wedding in Goa, in January 2022. They had two wedding celebrations, one was a blended Bengali celebration, and the other was a South Indian affair.
Talking about her idea of love after marriage, the Naagin actress said, "I am a hard-core romantic person. I believe in old school romance and for me writing letters and having long conversations over the phone is romantic."
She added, "Suraj and I have known each other for five years and it was very organic with us. It was a typical boy-meets-girl and we realised that we complement each other in many ways."
For those unversed, Suraj Nambiar is a businessman and investment banker. Born in Bengaluru, he was based in Dubai for work before marrying Mouni Roy.
Suraj and Mouni's marriage ran in choppy waters and it was noticed by their eagle-eyed fans as they unfollowed each other. The couple confirmed the news by sharing official statement, requesting privacy.

On the work front, Mouni has 3 projects in her kitty. She will be seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and The Wives. She is also involved in the thriller Ab Hoga Hisaab and the international project Bombay Stories.
